Corrections, tips, and questions about the work. I read everything. I don't reply to everything.

FAQs

How do you verify what you publish?

Every claim carries a tag. Documented means a primary record you can pull and read. Reported means a named outlet published it and I haven't independently confirmed it. Inferred means it's my analysis, and the reasoning is on the page so you can reject it.

I think you got something wrong.

Tell me. Corrections run in place, dated, with the original text struck rather than deleted, and get noted in the following dispatch. Include a source if you have one.

Do you take sponsorships?

No. Some links earn affiliate commission and are labeled where they appear. Nothing determines what gets covered.

Can I send you something sensitive?

There's a Proton Mail address for it: nolanrourke@proton.me

Understand the limits before you use it. If you email from a Proton account, the contents are encrypted end to end and I'm the only one who can read them. If you email from Gmail or Outlook, your provider holds an unencrypted copy regardless of what my end does. Either way your IP address is visible to Proton and can be compelled by a Swiss court order on a specific account, which has happened.

For anything genuinely sensitive, use a Proton account created without a recovery email or phone number, accessed over Tor or a VPN, from a device that isn't tied to you. If that sounds like more work than what you're sending is worth, it probably is.

Don't send me anything you obtained illegally. I don't want it, I won't publish it, and I'm not equipped to protect you if you send it. Everything covered here comes from public records, court filings, and published research. That's the whole method, and it isn't a limitation.

Anything that suggests an imminent threat to someone's safety goes to the police.

Please understand, I'm one person writing under a pen name, with no legal team and no secure drop. If you'd face serious consequences for being identified, I am the wrong recipient. Take it to an organization built for it.
